ACNE
Active acne is an inflammatory skin condition that affects over 80% of adults and is particularly prevalent in teenagers. It appears most commonly on the face, chest, back and neck. If it remains untreated it can cause permanent damaged skin commonly known as acne scarring.

Chemical Peels
Most types of acne besides cystic acne, are successfully treated with a course of chemical peels. The most common type of peel used to address acne or breakouts is salicylic acid, it is lipotrophic which means it’s able to dissolve the plugs formed in the pores. Blackheads are quickly broken down and the dead skin cells are removed leaving the skin feeling fresh and clean.

Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT) – Blue Light
One of the key bacteria in acne is Propionibacterium acnes or P.acnes which produce natural chemicals called porphyrins, which are sensitive to light at different wavelengths. Blue light kills the acne-causing bacteria and Red light greatly reduces inflammation and promotes healing, this results in less inflammation, irritation, less oil in the skin and of course, less bacteria!
ROSACEA
Rosacea is a chronic inflammation of the skin. It can occur at any age, but most often occurs after the age of 35. In advanced cases, it can look like adult acne, but usually begins as small areas of blotchy redness. Usually it’s found on the cheeks and nose, but can also appear on the forehead and chin. Rosacea can create pimple-like bumps on the skin that can ooze and crust over and can also result in a bulbous nose when left untreated. Rosacea is often graded; one to four to indicate its severity, four being the worst.

PIGMENTATION
Pigmentation (Melasma or hyperpigmentation) is a common, usually harmless condition in which patches of skin become darker in colour than the normal surrounding skin. BURNS & SCARS
Burn scars are a type of injury to skin, or other tissues, caused by heat, cold, electricity, chemicals, friction, or radiation. Most burns are due to heat from hot liquids, solids or fire.
Acne scars are permanent textural changes and identifications that occur on the skin as a result of severe acne, the term scarring is not used for the temporary red and brown marks which almost always improve over time and with minimal treatment.
Stretch marks occur in the dermis, the resilient middle layer that helps the skin retain its shape. LASER HAIR REDUCTION

After a full consultation with Dr. Chris Giezing, the correct Injectable treatment will be recommended for you. Results start to be noticeable approximately 2 to 4 days after treatment with the full effects usually noted within 2 weeks. Dryness typically lasts 4 to 12 months, but some studies have found it can last as long as 14 months.
DRY EYES
Dry eyes are caused by an imbalance in the composition of tears or if your tear ducts do not produce enough tears to keep your eyes comfortably lubricated. This could be due to age, eyelid problems, environmental factors, surgery or hormonal changes.

NAIL FUNGUS
Onychomycosis or nail fungus is the most common disease affecting the nails. While it can affect fingernails or toenails, it is more common in toenails because socks and shoes often provide the warm and moist environment that fungi like. The first sign of a fungal infection is a yellow or white spot under the nail tip. Over time, the patient develops other symptoms with the most common being discolored and thickened nails. An infected nail can become green, white or yellow. If debris builds up under the nail, it can become black.
TREATMENT
The Cutera Laser is an Nd:YAg laser with a 1064 nm pulse. It works by heating the nail bed and killing both the fungus and its spores. At a temperature of 42° C (107.6° F), the laser disrupts the fungus’ metabolism and damages its enzymes, proteins and cells.

VASCULAR OR TELANGIECTASIA
Spider veins are small unsightly red, blue or purple vessels found on the surface of the skin. Commonly found on the legs and the face due to pressure erupting the vein walls. Telangiectasia is a condition characterised by the dilation of the capillaries causing them to appear as a small red or purple clusters often found on the face. Varicose veins are not treated at this practice but you may be referred to a specialist for treatment.
TREATMENT
Cutera Nd:YAG laser can get rid of veins from tiny red ones on the face to small blue spider veins on the legs safely, effectively and without the use of needles. It treats various skin lesions such as cherry angiomas (small red like freckles), venous lakes (blue to purple patches commonly found on the lips), and port wine/strawberry birthmarks.
